RudraM-II: Another miracle of DRDO!!!


DRDO today (May 29) successfully test-fired the RudraM-II air-to-surface missile from the Sukhoi-30 MKI platform of the indian Air Force (IAF). The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test-fired the missile off the odisha coast at around 11:30 am on May 29.

DRDO said that the flight test has met all the test objectives validating the propulsion system and control and guidance algorithms. The performance of the missile has been verified from the flight data captured by range tracking devices such as electro-optical systems, radars and telemetry stations deployed by ITR Chandipur.

Meanwhile, Defense minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO, indian Air Force on the successful test of RudraM-II. He said that the successful test has further strengthened the role of RudraM-II system for the armed forces. SecretaryDepartment of Defense Research and Development and Chairman, DRDO, Dr. sameer V. Kamat congratulated the DRDO team, which resulted in successful testing.

What is RudraM-II?

Actually, RudraM-II is an indigenously developed solid-propelled air-to-surface missile system. Which has been designed for air-to-surface role to neutralize enemy assets. The missile system incorporates several state-of-the-art indigenous technologies developed by various DRDO laboratories. Earlier on May 1, the indian Navy's anti-submarine missile system was successfully tested. The canister-based missile system consists of several modern sub-systems, including a two-stage solid propulsion system, electromechanical actuator system, and navigation system.
