The UN has warned that terrorism is going unchecked in balochistan in pakistan and that the country's government should intervene and fix this immediately. The UN has said that human rights are being violated on a large scale and pakistan should act with genuine concern about this.
Balochistan is one of the largest states in Pakistan. It shares borders with iran and afghanistan geographically. There is dissatisfaction among the local people with the Pakistani government that the development of this state is not very much. At the same time, terrorist groups are operating widely here, taking advantage of this dissatisfaction. It is the responsibility of the country's government to monitor all this and fix the problem.
However, the police and the laws in the state are not working firmly against terrorism. Therefore, human rights violations are taking place in this area at a high rate. If we list the problems that happened in the past 2023-2024, we will know how serious the matter is. In this one year alone, more than 150 bomb blasts have taken place in this area. More than 500 people have died. There have been more than 60 attacks on Pak. Military camps, public transport, and places where China's 'CBCE' project works are taking place.
More than 300 killings have taken place in tribal clashes, kidnappings, and honor killings. More than 100 women and children have been kidnapped. Apart from this, drugs including opium are also being used in large quantities. There have also been numerous complaints of sexual assault and forced marriages. On the other hand, the Pak. army is engaged in forced arrests. Those arrested are subjected to severe torture. More than 10,000 cases of law and order have been registered in the last one year. More than 5000 banned weapons have been seized.

To mention some important incidents, in december 2023, 15 people were killed in a bomb blast outside a school in Quetta. In february 2024, 8 employees of China's CPEC project were killed in an attack by the Baloch Liberation Movement. In march of the same year, women's rights activist Karima Baloch went missing. She was later found dead. On november 9, a suicide attack was carried out at the Quetta railway station. 32 people were killed and 55 were seriously injured. The balochistan Liberation army claimed responsibility for this attack. They also claimed responsibility for the Zafar Express hijacking incident on march 11 this year.

The UN has warned pakistan about these problems. The United Nations Human Rights office has issued this warning. The UN has advised that before any country fights terrorism, it must fix the root cause of the problem. The UN has advised that investigation and search teams should be set up to find the missing persons. The missing persons should be declared as abductees. Those involved in this should be brought to justice. Pre-emptive arrests should be avoided. Violent concentration camps should be dismantled. The UN has said that the repression carried out by the military against human rights activists and political leaders should be abandoned.
