Official sources claim that india has not been invited to the next G7 Summit, which is set to take place in canada from june 15 to june 17. prime minister Narendra Modi's high-level dignitary visit has not been announced or preceded by any advance visits. Consequently, india is not expected to attend the G7 summit in Canada.

PM Modi has previously attended the summit six times in a row; this is the first time india would not be present.  The host nation has historically had the authority to choose the agenda, invite guests, and create the summit's tone, enabling them to customize the gathering to fit their foreign policy goals and priorities. The biggest industrialized economies in the world, comprising the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and canada, are together known as the G7.  Also invited are the United Nations, World Bank, IMF, and european Union.

Given the tense tensions between india and canada after the june 2023 murder of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in canada, the timing of the G7 Summit is noteworthy.  India strongly refuted Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau's claims of indian participation, calling them "baseless." Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, repeatedly said last month that there was "no information" on PM Modi's summit visit to Canada.
