A man was taken into custody in the Govindapura neighborhood of Bengaluru on charges of biting a young woman's lips and engaging in sexual harassment in public. police say the woman was out buying rations when the event happened. Mohammad Maroof Sharief, the accused, is accused of following her, acting in a lewd manner, and forcing her to kiss and bite her lips in the middle of the road.
After escaping, the woman told her mother, who then went to the police. At the Govindapura police Station, a complaint was made. Maroof was arrested and charged with public indecency and sexual harassment. On june 6, two back-to-back incidents of public misbehaviour were recorded near Milton Park in Bengaluru's Cooke Town at 7 pm.
