army was given a free hand to decide what to do. The
army Chief says that during Operation Sindoor, there was such an example of political direction and clarity, which we saw for the first time. General

pahalgam on
april 22 shook the whole country. Let us tell you that on

terrorists brutally killed 26 innocent tourists in
pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
General
upendra Dwivedi said, “On 23
april, the very next day, we all sat together. The Defence
minister also said for the first time that 'enough is enough'. The three
army Chiefs were unanimous on the fact that something should be done. We were given a free hand to decide what to do. This was an example of political direction and clarity that we saw for the first time.”
The
army Chief said, “On 25
april, we went to the Northern Command. There we thought, planned, formulated the concept and implemented it. We destroyed seven out of nine hideouts and a large number of
terrorists were eliminated. On 29

prime minister for the first time.”
We were playing chess in a way:
army Chief
General Dwivedi further said, "In Operation Sindoor, we were playing a kind of chess. We did not know what the enemy's next move would be and what our next move would be. This is called the grey zone. This means that we were not fighting a conventional war, but were adopting the strategy that was just before it. We would make moves, the enemy would also make moves. Sometimes we were checkmating him, sometimes we were attacking by risking our lives - and this is what life is all about."
General
upendra Dwivedi took a dig at Asim Munir
General Dwivedi targeted Pakistan's military chief Asim Munir during this time. He said that narrative management plays an important role in war. If you ask any Pakistani whether you won or lost, he will say that his
