Why Did TVK Rush to court Instead of Meeting the Victims?

To Delay Justice—or to Save Vijay From Jail?

When dozens of lives were lost in Karur, one would expect empathy, leadership, and accountability from the very man who claims to be “the voice of the people.” But what did Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) do? Instead of rushing to the grieving families, instead of owning up to their catastrophic mismanagement, the party sprinted straight to the High Court—under the shadow of a favourable judge.

This isn’t just political cowardice. This is a cold, calculated attempt to drag the truth through legal quicksand until the outrage dies down. And the question every tamil Nadu voter should be asking is simple: Why courtrooms before compassion?

1. Karur Was Never in Vijay’s Schedule — It Was Forced for Optics

The stop wasn’t planned. It was inserted for mass theatrics, and thousands were herded without preparation.

2. Vijay Came 7 Hours Late — And Turned Transit Into a Circus

Seven hours of delay, while his convoy staged “mass-appeal” stunts with blaring lights, building hysteria instead of controlling crowds.

3. The Crowd Was Engineered to Multiply

From 4,000–5,000 to swelling chaos—TVK deliberately stretched time to manufacture a “sea of supporters.” That sea turned into a stampede.

4. zero Ground Control by TVK Cadres

Not a single serious attempt to manage the crowds. No ropes, no barricades, no volunteers. Just chaos, left to fester.

5. Vijay Left Within 30 Minutes — No Leadership, No Accountability

The so-called “leader of the masses” bolted from the scene, leaving the dead and injured behind. No instructions. No comfort. Only silence.

6. No Official Address — Just a Cold Tweet

While bodies were being lined up, TVK put out a sterile tweet, worded like the tragedy had unfolded somewhere else.

7. Instead of Facing the People, They Ran to Court

The real bombshell. TVK filed a case in the High Court—under a judge known to be favourable—essentially shielding themselves from scrutiny.

This is not just “buying time.” This is an attempt to derail the investigation before it even begins.

8. The Dark Question: Jail on the Horizon?

Why the panic? Why the rush to courts before even visiting the families? Because if investigations are allowed to proceed without interference, the spotlight might fall directly on Vijay.
And if liability is traced to gross negligence, jail is not out of the question.

The Takeaway: Courtrooms Before Compassion = Guilty Conscience?

TVK’s move to seek refuge in the courts instead of seeking forgiveness on the ground is not just insensitive—it’s incriminating. Leaders who put optics above lives cannot be trusted with governance.

The truth is harsh but simple: TVK didn’t run to court for justice. They ran to court for survival.
