Tamil Nadu health minister Ma. Subramanian has announced that nurses who have completed two years of service will be given priority when vacant posts are filled in the state’s healthcare system. The announcement aims to recognize the experience and dedication of nurses who have been serving in government hospitals and healthcare institutions.

Speaking on the matter, the health minister said that nurses play a crucial role in the public healthcare system and are the backbone of patient care. He emphasized that the government values their hard work, especially those who have gained hands-on experience by serving continuously for two years.

Ma. Subramanian stated that whenever vacancies arise in nursing positions, preference will be given to eligible nurses who meet the two-year service requirement, in accordance with existing rules and regulations. This measure is intended to ensure job security, improve morale among nursing staff, and strengthen the quality of healthcare delivery.

The minister also highlighted the various steps taken by the state government to improve working conditions, training opportunities, and career advancement for healthcare workers. He said that prioritizing experienced nurses would help maintain continuity in patient care and enhance efficiency in government hospitals.

The announcement has been welcomed by nursing associations and healthcare workers, who see it as a positive move that acknowledges their service and commitment.
