The railway board members of Engineering and Traffic will co-opted by the committee. The committee will look after redevelopment of 50 stations and running of 150 trains by private players.

The union government approved the proposal of redeveloping 400 stations in 2015, however only one station Habib Gunj in Bhopal was given to private players on long term basis. It is expected the station to be completed by end of this year.

Gandhi nagar station was taken for development by Gujarat government, while Dehradun and Bhuwaneshwar stations redevelopment MoU's were signed by respective state governments.
