Changes coming into effect from december 1!!! Public beware..

With effect from december 1, all EMI purchase transactions will be tax deductible up to Rs. 99 processing fee will be charged. As people struggle to cope with inflation in the current scenario, they are forced to deal with rising commodity prices from next month. This means that from next december, the price of the matchbox will go up from the current Rs 1 to Rs 2. The price of matchsticks has been raised again after a gap of about 14 years. According to the industry body, the main reason for the 100% increase in the price of matchsticks is the increase in the price of raw materials and the increase in the cost of production. However, it has been reported that the number of matchsticks in a box will increase in line with the price increase. That means there will be 50 sticks in a ₹ 2 matchbox and 36 sticks in a ₹1 box. The hike will take effect on december 1. In this regard, VS Sethurathnam, secretary of the National Association of Small Match Manufacturers, recently told, "We have no choice but to raise the maximum retail price of matches as the cost of production has increased.

A kilo of red phosphorus costs from ₹ 410 to ₹ 850, wax from ₹ 72 to ₹ 85, potassium chlorate from ₹ 68 to ₹ 80, spindles from ₹ 42 to ₹ 48, and outer box from ₹ 42 to ₹ 55. Similarly, the prices of all raw materials have gone up manifold. That is why prices are going up, "said Sethurathnam.
