The second wave of Corona affecting all the sectors including the entertainment sector. The industry is still suffering from the loss due to the first wave of Corona. Before it could recover from the loss of the first wave, again the second wave hit hard. Currently, india is accounting for 3.7 million active cases and 246000 deaths. The world is facing a crisis from the loss of the agriculture sector IT sector and the entertainment sector is not an exemption of it.


By october 2020, Corona spread was almost ended and by that time lockdown was taken down and theatres were also opened with few restrictions. By this everyone thought bad days for the entertainment field came to an end. Movies started releasing in the theatres, movie shooting was resumed and everything is going well. But the second wave came and destroyed everything. Many Celebrities like aamir khan, alia bhatt, ranbir kapoor, vicky kaushal, bhumi pednekar and deepika padukone got affecting by the Virus and went through treatment. Since actors themselves are testing positive there is no other option other than postponing the shooting.


When we talk about the entertainment sector, it is not just movies and tv serials but cricket is also included in it. The most craziest indian Premier League (IPL) is also suspended due to the second wave. In 2020 IPL was conducted with lots of restrictions and audience were not allowed in the the ground. Like this, this year IPL was planned but it is suspended due to the spread of the virus.

"Everyone is making plans and contingencies based on an assessment of when things will open up, but there is no way of knowing that,” Producers Guild of india President siddharth roy kapur tells The hollywood Reporter. “It’s a bit like drawing up plans on the beach and then the waves come and wash them away before you know it.”
