After another unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was sighted in the Satwari region on Wednesday, security personnel intercepted drone activity for the second time in as many days. The UAV was allegedly carrying 5 kilos of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and it is thought to be part of a large-scale terror operation carried out by Pakistan-backed militants from beyond the Line of Control.

On July 16, a second drone was observed circling near the Jammu air Force Station, which was detected by radars of the National Security Guard's anti-drone defence system (NSG) After Pakistani militants carried out a drone strike on an airbase late in june, the NSG deployed the equipment in the Valley.


After the june 27 incident in Jammu, the number of drone sightings in the heavily guarded military base region has increased dramatically. In the aftermath of Independence Day, the indian air Force has taken severe precautions to avoid similar assaults in Jammu and other indian facilities. Several times, army and Border Security Force personnel have brought down explosives-laden UAVs at the border.
