History of World Disabled Day!!!


The international Day of Persons with Disabilities was first observed on december 3rd of each year, and the United Nations has been promoting it as a global tradition since 1992. Special emphasis is placed on this day in order to eradicate the social stigma associated with the disabled, enhance their quality of life, and raise awareness of disabled people so that it can be observed annually. It has been continually observed every year since 1992 with remarkable success all across the world.

The main goal of this day's observance is to increase global awareness of the issue of disabilities by bringing people together to support and enhance their rights in society, health, and self-worth. Additionally, it is believed to encompass all disabled persons in society in all spheres of life, including political, economic, social, and cultural ones. Every year, World Disabled Day raises awareness of many problems that affect individuals all over the world who have impairments.

History 

The United Nations General assembly proclaimed 1981 as the "International Year of Persons with Disabilities" in the year 1976. The plan was created to provide a strong emphasis on the international, national, and regional levels on the rehabilitation, prevention, promotion, and equalisation of opportunities for people with disabilities.

To raise awareness of the rights of individuals with disabilities so that they can participate fully in society, have equal access to opportunities, and get the same level of care for their health as other citizens. The celebration of the international Year of Persons with Disabilities was given a theme.
