Regional languages will not be taught at army Public Schools, according to the army Welfare education Society. On Friday, the administration stated that teaching regional languages was an unnecessary burden on pupils. Union minister of State for Defense ajay Bhat was replying to a question in the lok sabha from congress Party mp Shashi Tharoor. Employees are continually transferred and forced to move from one location to another location because of promotions or transfers. The minister of State stated that he must remain at work with his family for a period of time.
Also, due to their regular transfers, their children need to learn English, hindi and Sanskrit. Teaching the local language in the middle of the academic session seems to be an unnecessary educational burden on the students. Asked if the ministry would intervene and make arrangements for teaching regional languages to students, Bhat refused. The army Welfare issued a statement on december 8, 2021 stating that regional languages should not be taught in all army public schools.
