2. ram Ke Naam came in the year 1992

The year 1992 was a time of wrong discussion about Lord Shri ram due to the demolition of Babri Masjid. During this, anand Patwardhan presented one of the most controversial documentaries to date 'Ram Ke Naam'. In this documentary, it was claimed to be an investigation into the vishwa Hindu Parishad's campaign to build a ram temple in Ayodhya. The documentary received critical acclaim nationally and internationally. It even received the National Film Award for Best Investigative Documentary and the Filmfare Award for Best Documentary. Despite this, the then-central government banned telecasting it on Doordarshan. The government banned this documentary, declaring it to be 'hurting religious sensibilities'.


3. Inshallah Football was the story of not giving a passport to a terrorist's son

In the year 2010, Ashwin Kumar made a documentary Inshallah Football on a kashmir football player, who wanted to go to Brazil. This footballer was denied a passport on the grounds that his father had previously been a terrorist. This documentary won many awards, but it had to face government opposition. The documentary was given an 'A' certificate by the censor board, but the screening was banned just before its release. The reason for the ban was told in this documentary for showing a wrong glimpse of normal life in the presence of the indian Army in the kashmir Valley. This documentary was later released online by the producer. However, due to this online print being password protected, it had access to a limited audience only.
