A huge 300-year-old tree is present in Dussehri village located on Hardoi Road in Kakori block of Uttar Pradesh. Spread over an area of 1600 feet, this huge mango tree is said to be the mother plant of Dussehri mango. According to former head husband Manoj Yadava, once when the garbage plant was about to be constructed, there was talk of removing this tree, but the people of the village did not allow this to happen and saved it on the strength of their struggle. After this it was preserved by asking the public representatives. This tree has also got heritage status.
On July 3 i.e. on Sunday, the district Magistrate of Lucknow, Suryapal Gangwar reached Dussehri village and duly worshiped this 300-year-old tree and gave the message of environmental protection.
