There were rumours that the tamil Nadu government will punish Nayanthara severely for the surrogacy controversy. Recently, twins were welcomed by Nayanthara and her spouse Vignesh Shivan. They received surrogate twins three months after getting married. If a couple has a legitimate medical need, they are only permitted to choose surrogacy five years after being married in India. 

To look into this situation, the tamil Nadu government sent a team. Recent sources state that Nayanthara and her husband's assertions were accepted by the government team. No legal action will be taken against them. Udayanidhi Stalin, the son of chief minister Stalin, is good friends with Nayanthara and her husband.

Even while Nayanthara avoids social media, her husband vignesh shivan makes up for it by posting content about various aspects of their life online. vignesh shivan uploaded a photo of himself, Nayanthara, and their boys Uyir and Ulagam on Diwali. Vignesh stated, "Wishing all the nice people around... A very happy Diwali." He also posted a another video in which the famous couple can be seen exchanging holiday greetings. The couple are currently enjoying the parenting of twins and Nayanthara never signed any new projects so far.
