Salmon Ceasor (Bobby Simha) is a deadly criminal who kills numerous police officers in order to get out of jail. In an effort to apprehend him, Seethapati (Rajendra Prasad) enlists Waltair Veereeya Chiranjeevi's assistance. The entire plot of the film is determined by how he approached the situation and whether he had a personal motivation.

With Waltair Veerayya, megastar chiranjeevi returns to his commercial mass niche. He once more completely conforms to the director's concept. If he was understated and passionate in his previous performance, the most of the humour in this performance features him in an overt mass avatar. Therefore, rather than the acting itself, the issue is more with how the filmmaker creates his character.

Where things go wrong is in the endeavour to introduce the modern audience to the classic Chiranjeevi. They go further than is necessary, starting with the look and continuing with the little prods in relation to the act. For instance, the appearance does not evoke memories of the past, and in a similar vein, the lingo requires some getting accustomed to rather than imparting a retro feel. There are a few poignant moments where chiranjeevi excels, but they are obscured by the film's excessive amount of glitter. shruti haasan plays a flower pot in yet another holiday-themed commercial entertainer. In the songs, she is passable, but that is all. shruti haasan disappears for the majority of the second half, as usual.
