Happy Announcement for Voluntary Retirees..!?

As the retirement age of tamil Nadu civil servants has been raised, the government of tamil Nadu has fixed a 'new weightage' period for voluntary retirees. In tamil Nadu, when the retirement age of a civil servant was 59, those the age of 54 and below that were given a 'weightage' of five years' service if they went on voluntary retirement, on the basis of which he was given a pension. At present, the retirement age has been raised to 60.Therefore, the previous age of 54 has been raised to 55. Accordingly, if a person 55 years of age and below goes on voluntary retirement, he will be given ‘weightage’ that he has worked for an additional five years.Similarly, if the retirement age is 56, the weightage is four years; 57 will be three years, 58 will be two years and 59 will be one year, according to the order issued by Human Resource Development Secretary Maithili Rajendran. This order only applies to those working under the old pension scheme. This scheme seems to be a good announcement for those who voluntarily retire and also get a pension under the old pension scheme.
