Trisha gets a rare honor from UNICEF as she becomes the first South Indian Actress to receive the "Children takeover Celebrity Advocate" status from UNICEF. Trisha will voice out for child rights and issues related to child marriage, child abuse, and child labor.

The actress is on cloud nine as she gets this rare of honor. It should be noted that recently Trisha even acted in Kerala Government's ad stressing the value of measles vaccine. Jeff who attended the press meet said, "Trisha is clearly a role model for the younger generation and she will raise her voice against child marriages, child labor. She will now raise the voice in both Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Trisha who spoke at the press meet said, "This is indeed a very proud moment for me. I will raise my voice for the children in the state of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I am sure that if girl children are provided education until the age of 18, we can eradicate the child marriages completely."
