The superstar mahesh Babu-starrer maharshi won the most prestigious National Award at 67th National Film Awards on Monday. The movie was awarded for the ‘Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment’. The movie also bagged another national award and that is for choreographer Raju Sundaram.

Mahesh himself tweeted through his twitter handle about the national award and shared his happiness with his fans. He wrote, “Honoured and humbled to have received this prestigious recognition! #Maharshi will be always remain special. Proud of Vamshi Paidipally for brining a socially relevant story to light. Big thank you to the jury, the entire team of maharshi and our audience.”
He also tweeted, “Best Choreography for Maharshi!! A well-deserved win for #RajuSundaram!! Many congratulations.”
Talking about the same, director Vamshi Paidipally said, “Several people who watched the movie have taken up weekend farming and I still get calls about it. It made me very happy, but now that the film has won a National Award, my joy knows no bounds.”


The movie portrays the concept of weekend farming. It won the accolades of many moviegoers and critics alike. It is the first movie that Mahesh’s movie has won national award for. We are hoping that soon mahesh will receive national award for best actor role.
