They have been trying for weeks to decide on another release date as Don will not be able to field the film to compete with Rajamouli.

There is confusion among the producers in deciding the release date of the movie Don starring Sivakarthikeyan.

Sivakarthikeyan will star in Don after the success of Doctor. CB Chakraborty, a first-time director, directs the film, which stars priyanka Mohan in the lead role. One of the main characters is SJ Surya. The film's soundtrack was composed by Anirudh.

The film is co-produced by Leica and Sivakarthikeyan's Sivakarthikeyan Productions.

Don had planned to release the film in february ahead of Valentine's Day. As the corona infection increased, curfew was declared and the films scheduled for release in january postponed their release, so the february film of the Don film was also dropped.

It was announced that the film would be released on march 25 to lift the curfew. On the same day, it was announced that Rajamavuli's rrr movie would also be released on march 25. 

This came as a huge shock to producer Leica. The reason is that they have bought the tamil Nadu release rights of the rrr film. Without talking to them, they announced that the rrr movie would be released on march 25th. 

That too came within an hour or two of the announcement that their Don movie would be released on the same day. They have been trying for weeks to decide on another release date as Don will not be able to field the film to compete with Rajamouli. But so far they have not been able to decide on such secure release date.

They plan to release the film on May 12th. But Arun Vijay's movie Yaanai will be released on May 6. Thus it is also questionable whether the theaters they expected on the 12th will be available. It looks like the release date will be decided in a few more days.
