The kerala Story, a film by producer vipul shah, has been outlawed in West bengal, according to chief minister Mamata Banerjee. adah Sharma's movie debuted in theatres on Friday, May 5, but it was met with intense backlash and numerous petitions against it. Following protests in a few locations, including Chennai, multiplexes in tamil Nadu stopped showing The kerala Story the day before Banerjee made her declaration.

Mamata Banerjee was quoted by the news agency ANI as saying, "The West bengal government has decided to outlaw the film The kerala Story. This will prevent any acts of hatred and violence and keep the state calm. In The kerala Story, a Hindu woman from kerala who converts to islam and is then sold to the Islamic State of iraq and syria (ISIS) is the main character.

A number of political parties and organizations have criticized The kerala Story, alleging that it is not factually accurate and incites animosity towards the Muslim community. vipul shah responded to Banerjee's choice by saying, "If that's what she did, we'll file a lawsuit. We shall fight to the fullest extent permitted by the law.

In addition to adah sharma, the lead parts in The kerala Story also go to Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and sonia Balani. The movie has been regarded as "propaganda" by many spectators. adah sharma recently responded appropriately to people who called The kerala Story a "propaganda" film on her twitter account. She referred to her film as "real" and advised everyone to look up "ISIS" and "Brides" on google to learn the reality.
