Actress poorna made her debut in tamil cinema with the movie Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondram Aandu, which was released in the year 2008, starring actor Bharath. Following this film, she acted in films like Takaraaru, Sasikumar's Kodi Veeran, Kandha Kottai, Drogi, Aadu Puli, Kaappan, and Savarakkatti.

Currently, she has played an important role in Pisasu's 2nd part directed by Mysskin. In this case, Poorna, who participated in an interview, was asked by the presenter if there were nude scenes in Pisasu 2, which was directed by director Mysskin. If they are real, can you tell us about it? 

She replied that the director of the film has told her that there are nude scenes in the film in which actress Andrea has acted. I know what happens when those kinds of shots are taken. But that cannot be said in public. As Andrea has acted in that, only Andrea or Mysskin explaining that would be fine. But, I can't act in nude scenes. Even if it's a big film, I can't. poorna said that it takes courage to act like that. poorna also clarified that she is not aware of the censor board trimmings and she said she is looking forward to the release of the movie.
