Rumours abound from that era, claiming that megastar chiranjeevi offered malayalam superstar prithviraj Sukumaran a special role in Sye Raa Narasimhareddy, but the actor turned down the offer. It has also been revealed that chiru requested prithviraj to helm the lucifer adaptation as well, but the actor declined the offer. But there was a good explanation for this.

Prithviraj said to india Herald during the trailer launch event that he was really thrilled when chiru offered him a job opposite him. However, he later stated that he couldn't star in it since he was filming 'Aadu Jeevitham' (Goatlife) at the time.

The same was true when chiru invited him to direct lucifer four years later—Prithvi was still working on the same film. chiru garu believed that my statement that I continue to practise Aadujeevitham even after four years was a hoax. I told him what was truly going on, but he believed I was kidding. If I ever get the chance to accomplish anything like that in the future, I will definitely do it.

In the meantime, prithviraj said in an exclusive interview with Gulte.com that he had not considered producing the multilingual malayalam and telugu version of the lucifer sequel, L2: Empuraan, alongside Chiru. He believed that seeing two films at once would be too much for him.
