Pushpa 2 Delayed? Reddit Thinks Chinese Film 'Sakra' Could Be The Reason

While there have been rumors about the date change and the subsequent delay, not many know the real reasons behind the alleged delay or that the delay might not happen at all. On the other hand, Redditors think Allu Arjun's presence in the Chinese film 'Sakra' could be a reason behind a possible 'Pushpa 2' delay.

A recent Peeping moon report stated that editor Antony Ruben had left the project because of scheduling conflicts and Neveen Nooli had been signed to fill in the role. This again sparked Pushpa 2's delay speculation. However, despite such reports, 'Pushpa 2' makers assured fans that the allu arjun starrer will stick to the schedule and release on the promised date; August 15, 2024.

A  source close to Pushpa 2's production team also told Hindustan Times that the Allu Arjun film will be released on august 15, 2024, only and that is a 'firm commitment'. 

Pushpa 2 delay?

"Allu arjun will complete shooting for the film this month, and by June, the rest of the shooting will be wrapped up. So there's no possibility of the film being delayed," a post by the makers read.

Meanwhile, the makers of 'Pushpa 2' have been shooting for the film in several international locations like Malaysia, Japan, and more to deliver the sequel on time. However, it seems that to release the film on the promised date, makers have decided to shift some shooting inland on the domestic front.

Replicating international location sets at Ramoji Film City

As per a Gulte report, sukumar has decided to cancel some overseas shoots. Instead, he has instructed his art director to construct sets in hyderabad to replicate locations seen in Malaysia, Japan, and Bangkok.

These sets are to be built at Ramoji Film City and the team of the film will use CGI to enhance the look and feel of the scenes to give an impression of them being shot on location. The decision to build sets in hyderabad, the report said, was made to save time and meet the tight deadline of the film's schedule.

Reddit has its theory about the pushpa 2 release

Despite the technical difficulties, it seems fans have their theories about the alleged delay of 'Pushpa  2'. On Reddit, fans think it is because of the Chinese film 'Sakra' that pushpa 2 got delayed in the first place. Allu Arjun made his Chinese debut with 'Sakra' which has been adapted from the wuxia novel ' Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils’ written by Jin Yong.

The film was released in 2023 on OTT platforms during the Chinese New Year and became a phenomenon.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu will also be making a return to part 2. In 'Pushpa', Samantha's 'Ooh Anta Va' broke several chartbuster records. 

'Pushpa' also broke several box office records.  The film grossed more than Rs. 370 cr at the global box office. It also became the highest-grossing indian film of 2021 and ranks among the highest-grossing telugu films of all time.
