Javed Akhtar Slams Trolls: Javed Akhtar recently gave a befitting reply to trolls. He said in a conversation that they should know their limits.
Famous writer, poet, and scriptwriter javed akhtar is known for giving a befitting reply to those who spread hatred on social media. Whether it is supporting indian cricketer Mohammad shami in the 'Roza' controversy, responding to trolls praising Virat Kohli, or strongly condemning the pahalgam terror attack, Javed openly expresses his frank opinion on X.
But does his family or friends advise him to stay away from these trolls? On this question, Javed told news agency PTI, "Yes. My friends say, 'Leave it, you don't need it. You are above all this.'" He further said excuse me but, most of the time I consider myself above these trolls, however, sometimes you have to come down and tell them that 'no, you cannot take so much liberty. If you do this, I will answer you in the same way.
80-year-old javed akhtar is also the President of the indian Performing Right Society (IPRS). He said this on the occasion of the "IP and Music: Feel the Beat of IP" conference organized by FICCI on Tuesday. javed akhtar has been leading the IPRS since 2017. He says that the support of the government is necessary to give artists their fair share of hard work.
He said, "Lakhs of people are not giving us public performance royalty. We cannot fight lakhs of cases in court, it is not possible. Only the government can make it mandatory by making rules or by-laws." Javed said that whenever he contacted any political party or ministry, he always got sympathy and support. He said, "They have respect for indian artists. Many times they go the extra mile to help us. I have no complaints. Now we have to go to the government again and tell them that the law is great, but it is not being implemented on the ground." Javed Akhtar, along with Salim Khan, has written films like 'Sholay' and 'Deewar'. When asked about the relevance of these films even today, Javed said, "Some good works always remain in people's memories. These films have somehow become a part of indian culture, psyche, and common speech, but I don't know why. If I knew, I would have done it again and again." He further said, "Dialogues from 50-year-old films are still being used in stand-up comedy, other films, and even political speeches. How and why did this happen? It is difficult to explain. You can call it charisma, which has no definition. It just happens and then we try to find the logic behind it. But I think it is beyond logic."
