India is the most affected country due to terrorism and whenever public fury grows against terrorism and terrorism sponsored by its neighbor Pakistan,there will be demand for punitive strikes across the border with or without crossing the line of control. Indians always dream of their army,which is the fourth most powerful in the country to exact revenge like Israel whose army and Mossad donot tolerate even the death of one single citizen.
However politicians and government in power will slowly calm down the tempers and anger of the people passing time with mere rhetoric. This make many wonder why India cannot be like Israel. Some say India's military strength vis a vis Pakistan is not the same as Israel vis a vis Palestine. It is known that Pakistan has nukes and always threaten to use it first in case of any strike.
Even if India attacks without fearing the nukes, it cannot like Israel do Gaza emulation of Israel’s punitive use of force against Hamas-run Palestine, a territory from which rockets rain down on Israeli soil with reliable frequency because Pakistan always deny that ulike Israel had been attacked consistently by the very force–Hamas–that was in political control of the territory from which the attacks occurred, it washes off attacks from its soil on India.
Israel enjoys impressive support from the American people, in contrast to the Palestinians. No other state–apart, perhaps, from Britain–evokes as much favor in American public opinion as does Israel. In sharp contrast though US public love India, its government favour Pakistan due to its strategic location and will use power to pull back India.
Pakistan is strategically significant to the United States; the Palestinians are not. This gives Washington scant incentive to rein in the Israelis, but a major incentive to rein in any Indian impulse to strike at Pakistan. However justified the Indian anger against Pakistan over the recent terror strikes on Uri, Pathankot, Mumbai by Pakistani terrorists, the last thing that the U.S. wants right now is an attack–no matter how surgical–by India against Pakistan-based terror camps.

India is a prisoner of its global aspirations and pretensions and unlike Israel which ignore international public opinion in its use of force against the Palestinians, India cannot. India always get bogged down by tolerance, non violence and ahimsa. Unlike India, Israel’s reprisal policy was not born fully formed. It was calibrated to diplomatic and military circumstances. The Israeli leadership was careful never to let public emotion be the primary determinant.
Everyone knows that after the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, Egypt and Jordan carried out and encouraged cross-border attacks by armed Palestinians. Israel, then militarily weak and friendless, carried out counter-attacks against Jordan but held its fire against Egypt.Only when Israel decided Egypt was rearming for another war, its leadership gave the green light for retaliation against Cairo. Israel carried ou many airstrikes through its special force units.
This primitive tit-for-tat largely came to an end with the 1967 Arab-Israeli war and Israel’s capture of land pushed the borders deep into Arab settled areas. Israel had begun a more covert form of reprisal: assassination. The kidon, “spear tip” as this small group of assassins was called, set up inside Mossad became a central part of Israel’s retaliation policy after the Munich Olympic massacre in 1972 but has since been used across the world. Israel's success rate is over 80% in those strikes and they are trying for 90%.
When Indian plane was hijacked to Kandhar, Afghanistan, India negotiated with terrorists much to the shock of all, bowing in to the public pressure. This is unlike Israel which carried out deadly strike based on which many Hollywood actions films are made.
Here is how Israel carried out the strike. A passenger plane full of Israelis is hijacked and landed in Entebbe, Uganda. Mossad/IDF Special Forces sneak into Uganda aboard a transport plane. They are dressed as Ugandan soldiers. One of them is made to look like the president of Uganda, Idi Amin. They have a perfect replica of Amin's motorcade.
They approach the airport and the hijackers think it's Amin himself. The limos are actually packed to the roof with soldiers ready to strike with machine guns and silencers.
They storm the airport, kill every hijacker and 45 Ugandan soldiers, grab the hostages, and fly out before the Amin regime knows what the hell is going on. Oh - and they blow up 30 of Amin's jets.This was the last time a plane full of Israelis was hijacked.
Indian intelligence has yet to recover from. Prime ministers such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh had ambitious peace plans regarding Pakistan and felt covert operations would threaten such larger diplomatic plans.India recognised that ground attacks are only possible if New Delhi recognises many missions will fail, and that casualties and prisoners among Indian troops should be expected.
