Govt blocks YouTube videos sharing BBC documentary...

 

The central government has ordered to block tweets sharing the BBC documentary on the gujarat riots. According to sources, apart from the tweets of this documentary, instructions have been given by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to block YouTube videos as well. The link of more than 50 YouTube videos of this documentary made on PM Modi was shared on Twitter.

The Ministry has issued this order using the emergency powers available under the IT Rules, 2021. YouTube and twitter will have to obey this order of the government. This documentary of BBC was called a propaganda by the Ministry of External Affairs. BBC has made a new documentary series in two parts titled 'India: The Modi Question'. Due to which the controversy is continuously increasing.

The government told propaganda

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said that this BBC documentary is part of propaganda which questions the leadership of narendra modi during the 2002 gujarat riots. Bagchi said, “This makes us think about the purpose of this exercise and the agenda behind it.” He said that it clearly shows bias, lack of objectivity and colonial mindset.
