Liquor shops in puducherry, Karaikal allowed to operate till 11 pm!
Liquor shops were closed at 10pm as polling was over last week, as polling rules were not relaxed. Before the election, they were working till 11 pm.After the election, the excise department has allowed liquor shops in puducherry and Karaikal to remain open till 11 pm.
Liquor shops were ordered to close at 10 pm in puducherry ahead of the parliamentary elections due to the election code of conduct in force. Voting in Puduwai was completed on april 19. After this, the rules of election conduct have been relaxed in the sale of liquor there. Before the elections, liquor shops in Puduwai were open till 11 pm. Bars with tourist licenses were open till 12 midnight. Liquor shops were closed at 10pm as polling was over last week, as polling rules were not relaxed.In this case, since the polling has been completed, a request was made to the election Department on behalf of the Excise Department to allow the liquor shops to open again till 11 pm.Liquor shops in Puduvai and Karaikal areas have been allowed to operate till 11 pm in response to the request made by the Department of Excise. Deputy Commissioner of Customs Mathew Francis has issued an official order in this regard.
