The State government urged the Central Water Commission (CWC) to issue a directive to the concerned to commence the survey with or without the involvement of ap under the polavaram project Authority (PPA) within the time frame established by the supreme Court, claiming that the andhra pradesh government was delaying the joint survey on the backwater effect of the polavaram project in Telangana.

Engineering in TelanganaChief C. muralidhar requested in a letter to the CWC chairman on monday that the matter be taken up immediately, along with the survey of the backwaters. He added that the State would be slammed by the Monsoon in the following 25 days, therefore it was imperative that the survey be finished before its arrival, even though two weeks had gone since the data was provided by AP.

Indicating that the polavaram project's Full Reservoir Level (FRL) situation will result in the submergence of an area totaling 954.15 acres, he ordered the PPA to start conducting field investigations right once in order to implement the necessary protection measures in accordance with the Godavari Water Disputes Tribunal Authority's rules.

He continued by saying that in accordance with the CWC report and in response to National Green Tribunal decisions, there was a need to resolve the issue of demarcation of areas affected by the drainage congestion of the Kinnerasani and Mureddu Vagu Rivers. A similar exercise needs to be expanded for the remaining 30 local streams, according to muralidhar, who also requested the CWC to do ground-truthing of areas coming under submersion due to FRL condition in 7 significant identified local streams.
