The projected 800 MW supercritical thermal plant by singareni Collieries Company Limited is expected to start construction in July on the site of the 2 600 MW existing project at Pegadapalli village in jaipur Mandal, Mancherial. The firm is currently working to finalize the project tender, and after all the procedures are finished, work on the power plant will start.
The 800-megawatt supercritical thermal power production unit's detailed project report (DPR) was accepted by SCCL's board of directors in april of last year. The State government gave the order to build the 800 MW facility, which cost Rs. 6,790 crores. Officials from the corporation claim that the new facility would increase the jaipur power plant's overall power output capacity to 2000 MW.
The plants will be finished by the corporation in four to five years. According to authorities, the SCCL chose to add one more unit using supercritical technology in order to close the supply and demand gap. This move would make use of the facilities and resources already present at the facility.

According to authorities, the projected 800 MW facility in jaipur would not only assist to fulfil the State's expanding energy demands but would also boost the company's financial situation. They said that the current thermal plant was making a profit of roughly Rs. 500 crore each year. Once the new factory is functioning, it will also bring in more money. According to them, the existing 1,200 MW plant had been producing roughly 52,000 million units, or 12 percent of the State's overall electricity needs.

The corporation has prioritised the production of solar electricity and has so far built solar plants at eight different locations with a total capacity of 224 MW during the previous two years. The final 76 MW of these plants will be finished by the end of June. Up to this point, these facilities have produced 505 million units of power effectively. Through these solar farms, the corporation has already saved 300 crore rupees.
