According to the Met Department, andhra pradesh saw a 37% shortfall in rainfall in june, recording just 59.2 mm on average statewide as opposed to the typical range of 94.1 mm. All other districts saw deficient rainfall, with the exception of four districts: Konaseema, Krishna, chittoor, and Sri satya Sai. According to information provided by the Met department, the Konaseema district, which is part of the coastal ap meteorological sub-division, had 21% higher rainfall than average, or 165.8 mm, as opposed to 137.3 mm.

Similarly, krishna district only had a 2% increase in rainfall over the average of 123.1 mm. 20% and 11% more rainfall than normal was reported in the districts of chittoor and Sri satya Sai, respectively. east Godavari, one of the hardest hit districts, saw an 80% deficiency with only 25.8 mm of rainfall in june compared to the average of 125.9 mm. Also, Visakhapatnam, which should have received 126.3 mm of rainfall but only received 37.9 mm, came in as the second worst-affected district, according to the department. This represents a 70% deficiency.

Along with the Union Territory of yanam, the districts of Nellore, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and kurnool also had a deficiency of precipitation of greater than 50%. Overall, the rayalaseema meteorological sub-division recorded a deficit of 27% with just 52.8% rainfall compared to the average of 72.3%, and the Coastal ap and yanam sub-division posted a deficit of 41% with just 64.8 mm versus 109.5 mm. On July 2, high winds with speeds of up to 30 to 40 km/h are expected across South Coastal ap (SCAP) and rayalaseema, according to the Met Department's forecast. Isolated thunderstorms with lightning are also expected in these areas.

On July 3, it was forecast to bring heavy rain to isolated areas of SCAP and rayalaseema as well as thunderstorms and lightning in yanam, the north coastal ap, SCAP, and Rayalaseema. On July 4, the Met department predicts isolated areas of heavy to very heavy rainfall across SCAP as well as isolated areas of heavy rainfall in NCAP, yanam, and Rayalaseema.
