The BRS has created a plan to connect with this important demographic in the contest for bc votes. The measure is being taken as competing parties, including the bjp and congress, work to acquire support among the bc community. Prior to the approaching assembly elections, the BRS has carefully reached out to diverse communities, implementing a number of welfare and development programmes for them.
To make arrangements for meetings with a bc focus, the party's bc leaders recently met at the home of minister of Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivasa Yadav. These gatherings are intended to raise awareness of the welfare programmes the State government has implemented for the bc community. A large "BC Garjana" event will also be held to demonstrate chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's support for the BCs. They want to host Atma Gaurava Sabhas in each district's administrative centre and participate in a march alongside the party's bc leaders.
They will discuss different programmes intended to help bc castes, including helping students who are economically disadvantaged, giving out sheep, supporting Kalyana Lakshmi, and facilitating loans through the bc Development Corporation.
With a monetary incentive of Rs 1 lakh offered to BCs for the purchase of items necessary for their traditional vocations, the BRS has an advantage over the opposition parties. For this aim, the chief minister has already set up Rs. 400 crore, and more than 5.28 lakh BCs have applied for financial aid. The Most backward classes (MBCs), which include ethnic groups like the Rajakas, Nayi Brahmins, Kummari, and Kamsali, will make up the majority of those who benefit from this programme.
In the meantime, both the congress and the bjp are coming up with plans to win the BCs' support in the next elections. The congress is looking into a number of programmes and pledges to win over bc voters. One idea being considered is giving bc candidates 50% of the tickets for the forthcoming election. Additionally, the party intends to suggest raising bc reserves to 40%. The congress also intends to meet with bc leaders and begin a campaign to emphasise the party's dedication to the welfare of the bc population in order to further connect with the people in BC.
It seeks to recapture the spirit of the telangana movement and provide light on the battles its bc leaders waged to create the State. They intend to use political movies that demonstrate how congress MPs were instrumental in the struggle to create telangana State.
However, the bjp pledged in its bc Declaration to provide the bc community a budget share proportionate to their numbers. The party has also promised to give the bc Commission statutory standing and to give BCs preference in appointments to the nominated positions.
The bjp leaders also promised to hold a "BC Garjana" gathering last month to demonstrate their support from the bc community, but they were unable to do so. Internal squabbles and the replacement of Bandi Sanjay, a bc (Munnuru Kapu) politician, as head of the telangana bjp by g kishan reddy have hindered the BJP's objectives, nevertheless.
