One of the largest lotteries, worth one million AED (Arab Emirates Dirhams), was won by an indian employee. According to a press announcement from the lottery's organizers, another Pakistani expat employee won 50,000 Dirhams in gold coins on Thursday. The award was won in the guaranteed raffle draw by an indian expat named Venkata, according to the press announcement. In addition, he had also won the third prize of ED 250 in the 140th draws after matching three of five numbers.

The winner looks to be from one of the telugu States based on his name, Venkata, but the lottery organizers have not disclosed his full identity beyond that. Muhammad was named as the champion from Pakistan. As of august 10, one dirham is worth Rs 22.55 in indian rupees.

Venkata has been in the uae for the past 13 years and works as a porter in one of the country's well-known grocery brands. The lottery organizers phoned him on sunday morning to let him know of his extraordinary victory. "This is undoubtedly a moment I've never had before. I have never before in my life received a prize worth this much money. I'm grateful to Mahzooz and pleased with myself for persevering after losing the first few games.

Venkata now intends to pay off his indian mortgage with his newly acquired cash, relieving his family's financial hardship. He wants to go into business by himself. The same draw saw 2,770 additional contestants earn a total of AED 859,000 in second and third-place payouts, while Pakistani expat Muhammad won AED 50,000 in gold coins.

Participants may join the weekly draw every saturday consisting of the Grand Draw, for a chance to win the new top prize of AED 20 million, and the new weekly Raffle Draw, which will award AED 1 million each week, for AED 35 by purchasing a bottle of Mahzooz water. Participants in Mahzooz between July 29 and september 2 will automatically be entered into the special golden draw every saturday that began on august 5, giving them the chance to win an additional reward of AED 50,000 in gold coins each week for a total of five weeks.
