In September, Koti Women's college will have developed professions and empowered women for a century, marking a significant milestone. osmania university college for women, also known as Koti Women's college, is entering its centennial year and is situated in the centre of the city among historic buildings and flourishing gardens.

At the request of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, the then-Nizam Mir Osman ali Khan founded the institution that is today known as telangana Mahila Viswavidyalayam in 1924 with the goal of empowering women through education in hyderabad Samastan. The institution started operating on the grounds of nampally Girls school in the "Golden Threshold" with intermediate humanities studies. In 1935, scientific courses were added after which degree programmes in the arts and social sciences were offered. Along with a few diploma degrees, the college now offers 77 undergraduate and 20 postgraduate studies.

The institution moved into the current site in 1950; the former property was 63 acres large. The Osmania Medical college, which today occupies 42 acres, received a piece of the property. british Residency, a historic and historical monument designated by the World Monument Fund, has been a part of the institution for 210 years.

Centenary celebrations

Beginning in September, a year-long centenary celebration is planned, and K Chandrashekhar Rao, the chief minister, has been invited to the opening ceremony. As part of the inauguration, a convocation ceremony, annual day, global alumni meet, open house, and exhibition have been planned. Along with conferences, seminars, and illustrious lectures hosted throughout the year, we'll also hold a walkathon or a run.

Developmental activities
We have made the decision to renovate the physics block, a historically significant yet deteriorating building. It will become a centennial block. In order to accommodate the increasing enrollment, we also want to build dormitory and academic buildings.
