The congress is planning to deny tickets to many of its sitting MLAs, including five to eight ministers, ahead of the crucial
assembly elections in rajasthan later this year. The ruling party can field 60 new faces in this election. Sources gave this
information on monday (August 14).
According to party sources, the congress has decided to drop at least 35 MLAs, including at least five to eight ministers, in
the run-up to the elections later this year. The source said that the party is also considering fielding some celebrities, social
workers and some prominent award winners. It has been further told that this decision is being taken in view of the survey
conducted by the party a month back.

Citing an anti-incumbency wave against sitting MLAs and ministers, the party has decided to field 60 new faces in the
elections to be held later this year. The source further said that some senior ministers may be fielded in the Lok Sabha
elections due next year, as they have the potential to take on the bjp citing their popularity and work done in their
constituencies.

The source, however, also said that some of the MLAs who will be denied tickets to contest the assembly polls later this
year will be placed on boards or local municipal bodies if the government returns to power. When the source was asked

denied tickets, he said that there are at least 18 such leaders. Important assembly elections are to be held later this year in
