The punjab government has started such a scheme, under which 10 prizes will be given every month in
every district of the state. Means 290 prizes will be given every month in 29 taxation districts of the state.
For this, on the 7th of every month, a lucky draw will be conducted by the punjab government. The winner
will be given prizes up to Rs 10,000. This scheme is going to start from October.
What is this plan after all?
In fact, punjab Chief minister Bhagwant Mann has launched the 'Mera Bill' GST app on Monday. The 'Bill
Lao, Inam Pao' scheme has been launched through this app. Under this scheme, the purchase bill of at least
Rs.200 will be uploaded on this app and the one whose name appears in the lucky draw will be rewarded.
This reward will be equal to 5 times the tax paid for the goods and services purchased. The names of the
winners of the lucky draw that will be held on the 7th of every month will be given on the website of the
Taxation Department, apart from this they will also be informed through the mobile app. A person will be
entitled to the prize only once in the draw held on 7th of every month.
Will help in stopping tax evasion
Regarding this scheme, punjab Government's Finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema has said that it will
help in stopping tax evasion in the state. Cheema told that the GST collection of punjab is very less. Due to
the efforts of the state government, the collection has increased by about 26 percent in one year. But the GST
collection in punjab is only a quarter of that of Haryana. In the month of July, where the GST collection of
Punjab was Rs 2000 crore, then if we talk about Haryana, the GST collection has reached more than Rs 7900
crore here.
