The incident took place in Mattikatte village near Banakal of Chikkamagaluru district Mudigere taluk where the husband cast a spell on his wife's home after she had gone to their home after quarreling with her husband. Satish of Mattikatte village near Banakal had married his younger sister sumitra to Gurumurthy of Marasanige village 12 years ago. Ever since the marriage, the husband and wife had frequent quarrels. The elders kept doing raji-panchayats. A month ago, sumitra went to Anna's house because of another fight between her husband and wife.

  husband Gurumurthy got angry at this and Sumitra's elder brother Satish came home at 4 am and took my wife. He pointed a knife and threatened to kill you. When Satish opened the window, he could see Gurumurthy shouting. Immediately Satish opened the door and came out, Gurumurthy had left.

When he came out of the house again at 6 o'clock in the morning, he found that some animal's blood had been used for witchcraft in front of the house.
