NASA's LRO orbiter satellite captured the image of the lunar landing area of India's Chandrayaan-3 mission vikram lander.
The US space agency NASA's LRO satellite recently shared a photo on twitter of the spot where India's Chandrayaan-3's vikram lander landed on the moon. The vikram lander successfully landed on the moon on august 23, making it the first time to touch the south pole of the moon. This image released by nasa was taken on august 27, four days after the vikram lander landed on the moon. Sharing the image on twitter, the space agency nasa said, "The LRO spacecraft recently captured the Chandrayaan-3 lander on the surface of the Moon." A camera on the LRO satellite captured the lander at a 42-degree tilt angle four days after landing. The bright halo around the lander in the image has also been explained as debris from the landing. The LRO orbiter satellite is managed by NASA's Goddard Space Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, under nasa headquarters in Washington. The vikram lander successfully landed on the moon on august 23, making it the first time to touch the south pole of the moon.
