The Department of school education has said that protests will no longer be allowed in the TBI campus. The Head Offices of the Department of school education are functioning at Prof. Anbazagan Campus (Old TBI Campus) located on Nungambakkam college Road, Chennai. In this campus, protests are held from time to time on behalf of teachers unions. In that regard, a total of 4 teachers' unions recently participated in the protest in the campus of Prof. Anbazhagan. Emphasizing the demand of 'equal pay for equal work', on behalf of the Secondary Registered Senior Teachers' Movement, the Secondary Teachers' Association, the part-time special teachers working in government high schools and secondary schools, demanding permanent employment, the tamil Nadu Part-time Special Teachers' Association and the Combined Special Teachers' Association, said that for those who have passed the TET qualifying examination, the competitive examination should not be conducted again. The parents' association of those who have passed the qualifying examination also participated in the protest by emphasizing the demand. This protest of the teachers unions was held for more than a week. More than 5000 people participated in this protest. Due to this, the work carried out in the offices of the school education department was greatly affected. In this situation, the Department of school education has said that any protest or demonstration will not be allowed in the TBI campus.
It has been informed that protests can be held only in permitted places like Rajaratnam Maidan and Valluvar Kottam. Earlier, the Joint Action Committee of Primary education Teachers' Movements had announced that they would hold a protest at the TBI campus today. However, they withdrew the protest as there was an agreement in the negotiations.
