Six warships, including a guided-missile destroyer, have been sent by China's People's Liberation army (PLA) to the Middle east amid growing tensions brought on by the conflict between israel and the terrorist Palestinian organization Hamas, according to reports. The PLA's 44th naval escort task force included these vessels, which included the integrated supply ship Qiandaohu, the frigate Jingzhou, and the guided-missile destroyer Zibo (Type 052D) were a member of the 44th Naval Escort Task Group of the PLA, which recently engaged in a combined military drill with Oman.

The action took place at the same time as the US had dispatched a battle group and its most sophisticated carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford, to the West Asian region. However, the Israeli military has stated that anti-tank missiles were fired from lebanon on sunday and has cautioned that Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran, runs the risk of entangling neighboring lebanon in a conflict.

Without providing a timeline, the Israeli military said that it will begin the next phase of the Gaza assault against Hamas, which the US and EU have branded as a terrorist organization.  The health Ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, reports that over 4,300 people have died in Gaza. This includes the disputed death toll from an explosion at a hospital.

As the two-week-old confrontation with Hamas threatened to turn into a larger conflict, Syrian state media said that Israeli bombings had targeted the international airports in Damascus, the northern city of Aleppo, and an allegedly militant-used mosque in the occupied West bank early on Sunday. It stated that one person was killed and that the runways were rendered unusable due to damage from the hits.

According to the Israeli military, terrorists from Islamic Jihad and Hamas owned the mosque compound and were plotting another attack, which was one of several they had carried out in recent months. According to Israeli military statements, people are not the goal of any strikes against Hamas militants or their facilities. In addition, it stated that Israeli attacks overnight killed scores of Palestinian militants, including the deputy commander of Hamas rocket forces, and verified that 212 individuals are being held captive in Gaza.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated in a briefing that israel has been hitting fighters attempting to launch missiles across the Lebanese border and that it has also targeted a location in lebanon from where a missile was fired at an Israeli aircraft. According to the health Ministry, Sunday's deaths elevated the total number of Palestinian deaths in the West bank since the conflict began on october 7 to 91. The majority seem to have died in violent protests or during combat with Israeli soldiers.
