The Model Code of Conduct for rajasthan assembly elections 2023 was imposed from october 9. In order to
follow the Model Code of Conduct and conduct the assembly elections in a peaceful and fear-free environment,
the district Superintendent of police blocked 27 places in Bharatpur and Deeg districts, in which the police
investigated and seized goods worth about Rs 7 crore including cash.
Bharatpur district, which is called the eastern gate of rajasthan, shares its border with Uttar Pradesh and
Haryana. police have started blockade on the borders of all interstate districts to keep an eye on vehicles coming
from other states. To conduct the voting in a fair, peaceful and fear-free environment, district election Officer
Lokbandhu has taken out a flag march with the Central Reserve police Force in all the assembly constituencies
and has given the message that all the voters should cast their vote without fear.
20 times more seizures than 2018
All the vehicles are being checked during the blockade on the border of the district. Upon checking by the police,
cash, silver and gilt jewellery, illegal weapons were also found in the vehicles. During the blockade to enforce the
model code of conduct that started from october 9, almost 20 times more seizures were made than the seizure
action taken during the 2018 assembly elections. Till now, jewelery and other items worth about Rs 7 crore have
been seized along with cash.
What does the Superintendent of police say?
District Superintendent of police Mridul Kachhawa has said that keeping in view the upcoming assembly
elections, as per the guidelines of the election Commission, so far the value of Rs 7 crore has been seized by the
District police so that the election process should be completed in a free, fair and fear-free environment. In which
there is cash worth three and a half crore rupees, besides other items like jewellery, silver, illegal liquor, illegal
weapons, the value of all this has been added to it. The nomination process has started from today. Adequate
security has been imposed on the offices of all the returning officers of the district and the model code of conduct
will be fully followed.
