As soon as the video of sorting of postal ballot papers in Balaghat, madhya pradesh went viral on social media,
there was a ruckus in the politics of Madhya Pradesh. After this, congress made several complaints one after the
other to the election Commission. The effect of this was that Balaghat Tehsildar Himmat Singh has been
suspended. However, now congress has demanded action against collector and Chief district election Officer
Girish Kumar Mishra.
In fact, congress leader JP Dhanopia, who was made in-charge of Madhya Pradesh’s election-related proceedings,
alleged that postal ballot papers cannot be sorted by opening the strong room without the permission of the
district’s Chief Electoral Officer Girish Kumar Mishra. He said that strict action should be taken against the video
of Balaghat that has gone viral. State congress Committee spokesperson kk Mishra has also demanded action
against the collector. Apart from this, he has also said that a letter has been written to the election Commission
demanding that the Balaghat collector be kept away from the vote counting process.
Collector Girish Kumar Mishra released video
In this case, prima facie, Tehsildar Himmat Singh has been suspended on the recommendation of the Election
Commission. However, congress does not seem completely satisfied with this action. congress says that it is
impossible to open the strong room without the permission of the Chief Electoral Officer of the district. Balaghat
Collector Girish Kumar Mishra has also released a video saying that the sorting of postal ballot papers was done
in the presence of congress and bjp leaders. There has been no negligence of any kind in this. Candidates of BJP
and congress were informed over phone. This work was done in the presence of their representatives. In this
regard, many congress leaders have also accepted through video that the action of the district administration is
right.
