Today is Thaipusam.. On this day, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, put a lot of water on your forehead and light a lamp at home. Then the image of Lord Muruga in the house should be worshiped with flowers. Perhaps, if you have an idol of Murugan in your house, you should perform abhishekam of milk, panneer abhishekam, panchamirtha abhishekam, sandalwood abhishekam, vibhuti abhishekam as much as you can.

How should Thai Pelarnami fast be?

If you are able to fast on Tai Pelarnami fast for the whole day. Otherwise fast both morning and afternoon. At that time you take only milk and fruit. Then in the evening go to Murugan temple and worship Lord Murugan. Also, on the day of Vrat, you can visit the Murugan temple both in the morning and in the evening and worship Murugan. Only do this if you can. Likewise, you can participate in taking kavadi and carrying milk jugs to Lord Muruga. Thus you will surely get the grace of Murugan.
