Reportedly in Uttar Pradesh, india alliance partners congress and Samajwadi party are at loggerheads over the seat-sharing arrangement. Both the parties have now started making lists of their candidates for various seats. The alliance partners have agreed only on a few seats in the entire UP. Sources said that former mp Begum Noor Bano may be the congress candidate from Rampur. Despite the fierce rivalry between Begum's family and SP leader Mohammad Azam Khan, this seat has been given to Congress. He said that Azam Khan is ready to support Begum Noor Bano, as her family is in jail, Khan has no other option.
Meanwhile ajay Rai, who contested the lok sabha elections against prime minister Narendra Modi from varanasi in 2014 and 2019, is known for his vocal leadership and strong relations with party workers. Sources said that SP has offered congress the seats of Ballia, Fatehpur Sikri, Rampur, Maharajganj, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Kanpur, Saharanpur, bhadohi and Bahraich.
Perhaps despite there being no alliance between the two parties on Rae bareli and Amethi seats, SP has not fielded any candidate yet. Before giving seats to congress, SP had also asked who were the candidates to contest on the seats that congress is demanding. On this basis, congress has shared the names of some seat-wise candidates with the india Alliance.
