In view of the preparations for the lok sabha elections, the country's Chief Electoral Officer Rajiv Kumar is visiting Bihar. Rajiv Kumar addressed the press in patna on wednesday and told that there are 9.26 lakh first time voters in Bihar. Rajiv Kumar said, "There are 7.64 crore voters in bihar, out of which 4 crore are male and 3.6 are female voters. 21,689 voters are above 100 years of age and 9.26 lakh are first time voters. The Commission has removed the names of 16.7 lakh voters due to death or change of voters' place.

Chief election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there are 40 seats in Bihar. Of these, 34 are reserved for general and six for scheduled caste. rajeev Kumar said that the number of women voters in bihar has increased as compared to 2019.

Chief election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that apart from national parties AAP, BSP, BJP, congress and CPI(M), leaders of regional parties JDU, RJD, LJP, LJP-Ram Vilas, CPI-ML were met. These parties have put forward some of their demands. Some of these parties said that the Commission should be assured about the names that have been removed from the voter list and if there are any shortcomings in the list, they should be rectified. Apart from this, voter cards should reach the voters whose names are linked on time.

Political parties presented their demands before the election Commission

Rajiv Kumar said that political parties are demanding that paramilitary forces should be deployed at all polling stations. Patrolling should be increased before 72 hours so that law and order situation does not arise. If someone comes to vote instead of someone else, then action should be taken against them and arrest should be made. Whereas, one party said that they get only five vehicles. Since the state is big, more vehicles should be given for campaigning. Apart from this, a demand has been made that the counting of postal ballots should be done on time.
