Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has demanded registration of an FIR on thursday (22 February) regarding the death of a protesting farmer on the Punjab-Haryana border. Also, the farmers' organization has announced to take out a tractor march next week. Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has also announced that 'Black Day' will be observed on friday (23 February) in view of the death of the farmer.

SKM led the movement in 2020-21 against three agricultural laws of the central government, which were later repealed. He also said that farmers will take out a tractor march on the highways on february 26 and hold a Mahapanchayat in delhi on march 14.

Asked for an amount of Rs 1 crore for the family

SKM leader Balbir Singh Rajewal, while talking to the media, said that a case of murder should be registered in connection with the death of a farmer on the Khanauri border and an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore should be given to his family. Let us tell you that a 23 year old farmer named Shubhakaran Singh died on Khanauri border. Farmers say that his head was hit by a tear gas shell, but doctors have said that the real cause of death will be known only after postmortem. The farmer was taken to Rajendra Hospital in patiala after receiving injuries, where he was declared "brought dead".

The responsibility of the entire family was on the farmer

Sarwan Singh Pandher, general secretary of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti, claimed that three more farmers were injured and many youth were missing. He also accused the paramilitary forces of entering Punjab, breaking the hands and legs of an elderly man, putting them in a sack and throwing them in the fields. According to a report in indian Express, Shubhakaran Singh lived with his grandfather and two sisters in Balloh village of Bathinda. He was the owner of two acres of land and along with his uncle, he took about 20 acres of land on contract and did farming on it. He had the responsibility of his entire family.
