Earlier, Kotwali police station in-charge Aditya Tripathi had told that on the basis of the complaint of MP's private secretary Dinesh Chandra Rawat, an FIR has been registered against unknown accused. It was alleged in the FIR that after being declared the bjp candidate, some people had made public the objectionable video made by tampering with the mp to tarnish his image.

Police sources had said that in the video circulated online, a man is seen in an objectionable position with a woman. The name of the person seen in this video is said to be upendra Singh Rawat. The mp had said that as soon as I got the party ticket from Barabanki, my opponents did this and claimed that the video was completely doctored. He expressed hope that the accused will be identified soon. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, bjp had fielded upendra Singh Rawat as its candidate by canceling the ticket of then mp Priyanka Singh Rawat.
