Former West bengal Chief Secretary PS Raghavan passed away in Chennai

Former Chief Secretary of West bengal PS Raghavan passed away in Chennai. He is 97 years old.

PS Raghavan was born in Poontamalli next to Chennai. He served as an IAS officer in the West bengal Division in 1952. Later he worked in various capacities in Tripura, West bengal, and other states, and 1961 he took over as the Secretary of the National Unity Working Committee. PS Raghavan served in important positions during the regimes of indian Prime Ministers such as Lal Bahadur Shastri, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Indira Gandhi.

When he was the Additional Secretary of the Central Food Department in Delhi, he facilitated the availability of additional rice to tamil Nadu. It has been very helpful in bringing the nutrition program of mgr who was then the chief minister of tamil Nadu. PS Raghavan settled in chennai after retiring from service in 1987.

PS Raghavan, who has written various books in English, has also written various articles in tamil newspapers. Especially the book written by him in tamil titled Nehru to Yesterday got many awards. PS Raghavan, who lived in Adyar Nehrunagar in chennai, passed away yesterday due to ill health. He is 97 years old.

PS Raghavan has a son and a daughter. In which his son is already dead. As PS Raghavan, who was suffering from old age and ill health, passed away, many people paid tribute to him. His death has left the family in deep grief. His body will be cremated at the crematorium in Besant nagar today at 11.30 am.
