The cost of SMS sent in bulk by the candidate during the lok sabha general election campaign will be added to his election expenses. These SMS can be of any type, audio, video, text, etc. On thursday (April 11), DC and district election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav clarified that like other campaign resources, mobile messages will also be stopped 48 hours before the end of voting.
Guidelines issued regarding social media
He said that as per the instructions of the election commission of India, a media monitoring committee has been formed in the district. Which is monitoring print media, electronic media as well as social media. Guidelines have been issued by the Commission regarding social media. There will be a ban on sending bulk SMS of a political nature during the period up to 48 hours before the end of voting. During the election campaign, mobile service provider companies have been instructed to bring information about such bulk SMS to the notice of the media Monitoring Committee.
MCMC committee will keep a close watch
Nishant Kumar Yadav said that the district administration is fully alert to conduct the lok sabha general elections in a free, fair, and peaceful process. The MCMC committee will keep a close watch on those sending objectionable SMS during the election campaign. If any personal attack or wrong comment on any caste or religion is made against any candidate, then the person sending such SMS will be traced and appropriate action will be taken against him as per rules.
Participation of the general public is increasing in the sweep campaign
The participation of the general public in the sweeping campaign being run for voter awareness in the district is increasing day by day. This time, enthusiasm is visible among the people regarding voting. district election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav said that successful sweep programs are being organized in rural and urban areas of the district.
